Adding Tenant Value Through eWaste Recycling

Members of the BOMA Editorial Board are often asked to contribute content to Insight Magazine, often times not directly related to the nature of their businesses. Recycle and salvage of construction and demolition materials is a personal mission and electronic waste is one of 40 materials found in construction & demolition waste. We all must to do our part to reduce construction’s environmental impact. Today, 40% of landfill debris is attributed to construction and unless we do our part to divert recycle and salvage materials from landfills, we will cause irreparable environmental damage. Together we can make a difference. In redirecting items from landfills that are not at end of life, they can further serve those in need. Think of all the computers alone that are dumped that can be refurbished and used by non-profits without funding who otherwise would go without. There is significant value in providing recycle and salvage solutions for tenants and electronics is one of them.
